Sunday night dessert: Vanilla cake and gooey marshmallow topping with chopped chocolate
It’s very gloomy here in N.Y.C today, storm sandy is suppose to hit later on today. Since, I live near the beach we have to pack up and evacuate. So this is going to short and sweet.
The topping for this cake is simply marshmallow fluff and chopped chocolate. It’s so gooey and yummy .
Ingredients Topping 16 oz jar of marshmallow fluff 1 1/2 cup of chopped chocolate Cake 2 1/2 cups of flour 1 tablespoon baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar 2 tablespoons of vanilla 4 eggs 3/4 cup milk
Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix flour, baking powder and salt in medium bowl. Set aside.
2. Beat butter in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed 30 seconds or until softened. Add granulated sugar and vanilla; beat until light and fluffy, scraping down sides of bowl frequently. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time. Alternately beat in flour mixture and milk on medium-low speed just until mixed. Pour into greased and floured sheet baking pan.
3. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely on wire rack.
Chop chocolate and set aside. Spread marshmallow fluff with large spoon to cover cake. Sprinkle chop chocolate on top. And serve . Enjoy.
