Chocolate chip crumb cake

Chocolate chip crumb cake
Who doesn’t love crumb cake, the best part is the top layer, so yummy. It reminds me of being kid when my grandma cut her crumb cake with her coffee right before she went to church .
For this recipe I used a round cake pan and poured part of the batter in the pan. Then sprinkled some of the chocolate chip crumbs on it. Pour the remaining batter in and sprinkle the rest of the crumb mixture. Or you  don’t have layer at all. It’s really up to you.

1 1/2 cups of flour
1 cup of firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 cup of butter
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup of plain yogurt
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 cup of semi-sweet morsels

Pre heat oven at 350. Spray 9 inch round cake pan with baking spray. Combine flour and brown sugar in large bowl. Cut butter in with knife until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.Remove 1 cup of the crumb mixture. Set aside for later. Add baking soda and salt to remaining crumb mixture; mix well add yogurt, egg and vanilla with mixer on med speed. Beat one minute or until well blended. Pour into prepared pan. sprinkle chocolate morsels and reserved 1 cup mixture. Bake for 40-45 mins or until golden brown. Serve warm or at room temp. Enjoy.
